Ms Finnegan’s first class had a special treat today — a potato party! A few months ago, the children planted seed potatoes in the school garden. We looked after them carefully and today it was finally time to harvest. The class had great fun digging up the potatoes and seeing how many had grown. Ms Finnegan washed and boiled them, then served them at lunchtime with a bit of butter. Growing their own food helped the children learn where food comes from and how much care it takes. It also taught them patience and responsibility. Best of all, they got to enjoy something they grew themselves — and it was delicious!
