First Class Explores the World of Houses 🏠

8th Oct 2025

At St. Mary’s, First Class students have been diving into an exciting project all about houses, how they’re built, what materials are used, and the fascinating process behind construction. This hands on learning journey has been both educational and incredibly fun for our young learners.

Through lively discussions and interactive activities, the children discovered key components of a house—foundations, walls, roofs, and how each part plays a vital role in making a home safe and comfortable.

Bringing Concepts to Life

To apply their knowledge, First Class students took on the challenge of creating their very own model houses. Using materials like cardboard and recycled items, they designed and built miniature homes, showcasing their understanding of structural elements.

The classroom buzzed with creativity as students carefully considered how to make their models sturdy. They experimented with different shapes for roofs, tested the strength of walls, and even added thoughtful details like doors, windows, and chimneys.

We’re incredibly proud of our First Class learners for their enthusiasm, creativity, and the impressive model houses they’ve built. Their hard work has truly brought the topic of homes to life at St. Mary’s!
