Butterfly fun and Earth Day planting with Ms Finnegan and Ms Grace

30th Apr 2026

Over the past few weeks, our class had great fun looking after some caterpillars in the classroom. We watched them closely each day as they ate, grew bigger, and eventually formed their chrysalises.

Ms. Finnegan brought them home over the Easter holidays to keep a close eye on them and make sure everything went well while the school was closed.

When we came back after the holidays, we were so excited to see that they had turned into butterflies! We spent some time observing them before bringing them outside to set them free.

It was a lovely experience for the children and a great way to learn about the life cycle of a butterfly.

We also planted sunflowers to celebrate Earth Day! We can’t wait to watch them grow.
