Ms. O'Gara's Bee Day!

19th Jun 2023

What a day we had in Ms. O'Gara's Junior Infants today—it was Bee Day and the classroom was abuzz with excitement! The children came dressed as adorable little bees, and we spent the day continuing our learning and exploring the fascinating world of these incredible creatures. We learned that bees are small insects known for their important role as pollinators. They help flowers reproduce by carrying pollen from one flower to another. We talked about the different types of bees, such as the queen, worker bees and drones and the unique jobs each of them has within a bee colony.

Next, it was time to get creative! The children participated in a delightful craft activity, making their own bee headbands. Once they put on their headbands, the classroom transformed into a hive of buzzing bees—a sight to behold!

We also created bees by painting and decorating stones, played bee-themed games and completed writing based on bees. The children looked fabulous and we had a great day. Thank you very much to all of the parents for getting involved and dressing your children in bee-themed clothes! It was a day filled with laughter, fun and learning!
