Senior infants were very lucky to get a visit from a dentist this term, especially since we were learning all about teeth in class. Michelle called into the classes to talk to us about our teeth; their structure, functions, how to clean them properly and the foods that help us to take care of our teeth. We also found out about plaque and the foods we need to avoid so that it doesn’t build up in our mouths and cause damage. After the presentation, Michelle quizzed us on what she had said and we were able to correctly answer all of her questions. To reward our correct answers, Michelle very kindly handed all of us a goody bags containing a variety of dental hygiene items. Go raibh maith agat Michelle for your very interesting presentation and for giving your time to visit us and answer our well prepared questions. Dentistry is a career that seems very appealing to our class as a result of this visit!
“Fáilte romhat” from everyone in Senior Infants 1. There are 30 pupils in our class, 14 boys and 16 girls. Our teacher is Ms. O’Loughlin. Each week there is a “Bord na Seachtaine”, and “Gaeilgeóir na Seachtaine”. We work really well together in our table groups and we make sure to help each other out tidying up or with schoolwork. Book, pencil and crayon collectors ensure that the classroom runs smoothly and that we can achieve our “X factor” tables.
Our classroom is always buzzing. We love writing, listening to stories and singing songs. Every Tuesday and Friday, we get to go to the hall for P.E. Aoife visits us every Wednesday for some drama fun. We hope you enjoy looking at pictures of all the different subjects and activities that are happening in our classroom.
Welcome to Senior Infants!
