Thank you to all of the Grandparents who took time to come visit us here in Senior Infants. The children were very excited to show off their work and the chance to give their Grandparents a tour of the classroom too. Thank you all for a wonderful day!
A huge thank you to Ms. Kelly and our buddies in 5th Class who came to visit us during Wellbeing week. We created wellbeing wells and talked about people we love to spend time with along with the activities that make us happy. We really enjoyed this activity and loved working with 5th Class.
The talented artists in Senior Infants really got into the festive spirit today by making Christmas decorations. We loved experimenting with clay and cannot wait to hang them on our Christmas trees!
Senior Infants were delighted to take part in planting as part of Science Week. There was great excitement as Sinéad taught us how to plant daffodil bulbs. We were very grateful for her help. We look forward to Spring when we will see how our daffodils have grown!
We love reading in Senior Infants. We have learned a lot of new sounds so far this year and have been adding lots of tricky words to our word wall. Have a look at us enjoying our literacy stations. As you can see, we always try our best and really enjoy working together.
We have been having a very spooky time here in Senior Infants as we get ready for Halloween! We painted haunted houses, witches, black cats and pumpkins. We even wrote spells and made our very own magic potion. We were very excited to see that our ingredients of phoenix feather, wart of toad, unicorn blood and wizard's beard created a bubbling potion. We also enjoyed spending time at our potion lab where we added, stirred and boiled different potions.
We learned all about the body and skeletons and how we change and grow. Look at our dancing skeletons that we made! We also played tricky word musical statues, do any of you recognise the familiar theme tune?
Trick or Treat!
We all dressed up in our Halloween costumes on the last day of term and raised money for Temple Street Children's Hospital. We showed off our scary costumes in a Halloween parade and had a wonderful day. Happy Halloween everyone!
It has been a very busy start to our new school year here in Senior Infants! We have really enjoyed catching up with our friends after the Summer and learning lots of fun and exciting things in our new classroom.
We have been learning all about the dentist during Aistear time and we even set up our very own dental surgery. It is now Autumn and we have been learning all about the changes in the world around us for this season. We hope you enjoy our pictures from some of the activities that we've enjoyed over the past month.
Senior Infants have been very busy this week with lots of activities going on:
