Each and every one of our hurdlers got through their heats and into the final - absolutely fantastic given that this is only our second year competing in hurdles!
A particular well done to two individuals. Julia in 3rd class (age 9!) competed against 4th and some 5th class in the u11 category to come in first place! Well done Julia for being so brave in competing in an older age category. A huge comhghairdeas also to Josh in 4th class, who took on the high jump for the first time. Not only did Josh win gold, but he also smashed the previous U11 record of 1m33 set in 2006 and sailed over 1m40! Well done, Josh!
A fantastic day out for St. Mary's. Each year, we have come home from the field events with more and more medals - a testament to how hard the children have worked and how much they are improving.
Regardless of whether our athletes came home sporting medals or not, they are all winners in our eyes and are shining examples to younger years wishing to compete in the future. You should all be extremely proud of yourselves.
Photos will follow this evening. If any parents would like me to email them photos, please feel free to send me a message at: firstname.lastname@example.org and I will forward them on.
