Junior Infants are getting so excited for Christmas! Santa has sent us an elf called Freddie. He keeps an eye on us and sends back lots of great news about our class to Santa himself. He has had lots of great behaviour to report! Freddie flies back to the North Pole each night and then moves position in our classroom -he often gets up to lots of mischief!
Today we enjoyed the pantomime in the Mill Theatre in Dundrum - Jack and the Beanstalk. There was great excitement as all 207 children from Belmont boarded buses bound for Dundrum. We had a fantastic time and enjoyed shouting at the top of our voices!
We are practising hard for our Christmas performance on Thursday at 1pm. We can't wait for everyone to come and watch our class perform!
Our Aistear room has come alive at Christmas time and we are enjoying Santa's workshop in the role play area. Ms. Moran becomes Mrs. Claus and interviews our eager elves for the job. We can then jump into action - making wrapping paper and wrapping presents, making, fixing and mending presents as well as filling up Santa's sleigh, preparing the reindeer and helping Santa on his merry way! The junk art area has been trying hard to create presents. Our small world area has become a snowy gingerbread village with a little Christmas tree and real lights! Our sand area has turned into a snowy surprise!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank parents for a hugely successful first term. A sincere thanks to all for your constant support and co-operation. It has made for a very smooth and successful first term and it is amazing to see the children flourish.
