This week, we have been reading 'Oliver's Fruit Salad', a lovely story about a boy making fruit salad with his grandparents. We have been learning about the different fruit that grows in Ireland and the fruit that we have to get from warmer countries. We have particularly enjoyed learning about the long journey a banana has to make before we can buy it in the shops.
We are hoping to make our own fruit salad in school tomorrow. To facilitate this, we would appreciate if a small amount of extra fruit could be packed into our school lunch boxes tomorrow, if possible.
We are all looking forward to sampling different fruit and are keeping an open mind about fruit that we do not think we like. We may end up like Oliver in the story, who said he did not like fruit but ate three bowls of fruit salad. Scrummy!!
(If your child has any fruit allergies, please let me know in the morning.)
