We have been learning loads about houses and homes this past month. Today each group built a house out of different materials and we tested to see if the big bad wolf could blow them down or not. It was great fun. Have a look at our houses below.
We went to see Robin Hood in the Mill Theatre on Friday. We travelled there by bus and had a fantastic time!
Yesterday was our Christmas play and we had such a good time performing for all the parents in the hall. We all sang out so nicely and loudly on the day and said our lines perfectly. We are very proud of ourselves!
We have had another great month in Junior Infants. We are currently practising for our upcoming Christmas performance. We are learning loads of new numbers and sounds. Here are some pictures of us doing our Phonic's stations.
This week, it was fire safety week in school. We were super at practising for the fire drill and discussing the safe and unsafe fire procedures. We are also learning about the 'senses' and particularly 'taste'. We made Rice Krispie buns in the class too. We all took turns mixing the bowl. They tasted yummy!
We have started learning our sounds this month and we are really enjoying it! After we learn a new sound we do stations to make sure we can identify words beginning with that sound and write it correctly. Here are a few pictures of the stations we did last week.
We had another five wonderful children this week stand up and talk all about themselves and their favourite things. We also got a chance to paint our self-portraits using different colour paint. It was great fun!
We had five wonderful "star of the day" children last week. They sat up on the author's chair and told us all about themselves - their favourite colour, toy, book, food and thing to do! They even got the chance to bring in their favourite book and toy and answer questions from the other boys and girls in their class. We read their favourite book as a class during story time at the end of the day too. We love getting to know all about the other children in the class and can't wait for next week!
We had such a wonderful school trip to Airfield last Friday. It was so exciting getting on a big bus and travelling there as a class. We each had a partner to sit beside and to hold hands with during the tour. We got to visit the animals, learn about how milk is made, visit the pond and see what we could find, learn all about the vegetables they grow there and we even went to the playground! It was such fun :)
Welcome to Junior Infants!
We are a lovely group of 23 girls and boys! Ms Ní Ghiollagáin is our teacher. Have a look at all the fun stuff we get up to in school here :)
