Aistear means journey as Ghaeilge and what a journey it has been so far!
We went on an Autumn walk to Herbert Park with Ms Finnegan's class. We were teamed up with a boy or girl from 5th class to complete a scavenger hunt. We had to find different types of leaves, acorns, twigs and other things found in nature in Autumn. We even found some blue leaves! (Ask us and we'll explain to you why the leaves were blue.)
Junior Infants are very excited to have completed Set 1 of their Jolly Phonics sounds. (s,a,t,i,p,n) This means that we are now beginning to try blending the sounds together to read words like sat, sit, pan, pit, nap etc. For some of us, this will happen quickly. Please don't be worried if your child is having difficulty - it is very early days yet! The most important aspect is to keep checking all your child's sounds each Monday and Wednesday in their sounds book.
Welcome to Junior Infants!
We are a lovely group of 23 girls and boys! Ms Ní Ghiollagáin is our teacher. Have a look at all the fun stuff we get up to in school here :)
