We had another really interesting week getting to know all about the other boys and girls in the class. Take a look below at our wonderful stars!
This week, we went on a fun nature walk to Herbert Park! We each had a Junior Infant buddy and a 5th class helper. We collected leaves, conkers, acorns, flowers, grass and sticks. We then made bushy tails for our squirrels in the classroom.
We had three wonderful "star of the day" children last week. They sat up on the author's chair and told us all about themselves - their favourite colour, toy, book, food and thing to do! They even got the chance to bring in their favourite book and toy and answer questions from the other boys and girls in their class. We read their favourite book as a class during story time at the end of the day too. We love getting to know all about the other children in the class and can't wait for next week!
We have had a wonderful first month in Junior Infants. We practised our froggy legs pencil grip, we made shape monsters out of blocks, we learned all about the other boys and girls in our class and even painted pictures of ourselves. Take a look at the photos below!
On the 22nd May everyone in Junior Infants went to Airfield Farm. We met lots of animals, we played in the outdoor adventure park, we hunted for bugs and we had so much fun. Here are a few photos from our time there!
Take a look at all the animals that came to visit us in school last week. We were so lucky that we even got to hold some of the younger and smaller animals! We learned how to care and feed these animals! What an exciting day it was!
Here are just a few pictures that show us during our morning Integrated Play. Since the start of the year, we have explored themes such as 'The Restaurant', 'School', 'Houses and Homes', 'Halloween', 'Christmas', 'Winter', 'The Farm' and 'The Pet Shop'. We used water, junk art, playdoh, sand, role-play and construction stations to learn about these themes. We had so much fun!!!
We were very lucky on Pancake Tuesday as we got to taste some delicious pancakes in school.
Junior Infants took full advantage of the beautiful weather we had last week (while it lasted) and took the classroom outdoors!
We experimented with light and shadows by tracing our partner's shadows with chalk. It made for some very interesting (crime scene style) markings on the yard! Some of us managed to get ourselves into some tricky poses - can you spot the yoga tree pose featuring in the photos below?
A few of us even had a go tracing Ms. White's shadow - yes it took three of us!!
Welcome to Junior Infants!
We are a lovely group of 23 girls and boys! Ms Ní Ghiollagáin is our teacher. Have a look at all the fun stuff we get up to in school here :)
