We had a great last day to celebrate the Easter holidays. We had an Easter egg hunt with Ms Ni Fhearáin’s class. We ran around the garden in pairs looking for plastic eggs with a surprise in them. We also had a popcorn party after break time. Happy Easter from all of us here!
We are so lucky to have so many fun outings happening around Spring time. Firstly, we grew sunflowers and grass heads in small pots using soil and cotton wool. We are enjoying watering them and watching them grow.
We also got to go on a Spring nature walk with Ms O'Sullivan's class. We were partnered up with a girl or boy from the other class and went on a spring hunt. It was great fun getting to know the other class :)
Lastly, there was great excitement last Friday as a pet farm came to visit the school. We saw loads of cool animals like a snake, rabbit, lizard, donkey, lamb, pig and sheep. We got to pet them and learned all about what they eat and where they live.
Bhí coicís iontach againn ag céiliúradh Seachtain na Gaeilge. Tháinig 'giggles' an fear grinn isteach agus chuir sé seó iontach ar siúl. Bhí ceolchoirm, tóraíocht taisce, tráth na gCeist agus lá glas againn freisin. Bhuaigh Sophia agus Clara 'Gaeilgeoir na coicíse'.
We have been working so hard on our Art work this month. Our colourful cows were inspired by the famous artist 'Peter Diem'. We also made Sheep out of bubble wrap. It was a lot of fun!
This month we are having great fun learning all about Spring and the Vet's Surgery. We have a Vet Surgery in our classroom where we like to dress up and act out different roles. We are learning all the new vocabulary and phrases associated with the Vet. We are also enjoying doing writing and math stations. We have 7 minutes on each station and when the timer goes off we have to clean up and move on. We really enjoy them :)
We built houses made out of different materials in our groups and made them strong so that the big bad wolf couldn't blow them down. We did really well, look at the videos below :)
We have had a very busy week settling back into school after the Christmas break. This month we are learning all about "houses and homes" and talking about the different type of houses around the world. Here is some pictures of us during Art where we were designing and discussing the houses of the Three Little Pigs. We had loads of fun making houses out of straw, bricks and sticks :)
We were so lucky to get to go to see Beauty and the Beast in the pantomime last week in Dundrum. We got a big bus there and made sure to hold our partner's hand walking to and from the bus. We really enjoyed ourselves.
We had so much fun practising for our Christmas play and performing in the school hall last Wednesday. We were all very excited to show all our parents our great singing and acting up on the big stage. Here are some pictures of us just before we performed!
Welcome to Junior Infants!
We are a lovely group of 23 girls and boys! Ms Ní Ghiollagáin is our teacher. Have a look at all the fun stuff we get up to in school here :)
