I'm sure you will all agree with me that Junior Infants put on a most outstanding performance today! They put in so much hard work over the last few weeks practising their lines and songs. They had a great time - we hope you did too!
Junior Infants are getting so excited for Christmas! Santa has sent us an elf called Freddie. He keeps an eye on us and sends back lots of great news about our class to Santa himself. He has had lots of great behaviour to report! Freddie flies back to the North Pole each night and then moves position in our classroom -he often gets up to lots of mischief!
Today we enjoyed the pantomime in the Mill Theatre in Dundrum - Jack and the Beanstalk. There was great excitement as all 207 children from Belmont boarded buses bound for Dundrum. We had a fantastic time and enjoyed shouting at the top of our voices!
We are practising hard for our Christmas performance on Thursday at 1pm. We can't wait for everyone to come and watch our class perform!
Our Aistear room has come alive at Christmas time and we are enjoying Santa's workshop in the role play area. Ms. Moran becomes Mrs. Claus and interviews our eager elves for the job. We can then jump into action - making wrapping paper and wrapping presents, making, fixing and mending presents as well as filling up Santa's sleigh, preparing the reindeer and helping Santa on his merry way! The junk art area has been trying hard to create presents. Our small world area has become a snowy gingerbread village with a little Christmas tree and real lights! Our sand area has turned into a snowy surprise!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank parents for a hugely successful first term. A sincere thanks to all for your constant support and co-operation. It has made for a very smooth and successful first term and it is amazing to see the children flourish.

We will be performing a little collection of Christmas poems and songs in the school hall on Thursday 15th of December at 1pm sharp. Everybody is welcome to attend. I have sent home your child's line last week in their homework folder. I would be grateful if you could help your child learn this well and practise saying it with an 'exciting voice!'
I am asking everyone to bring in a plain white t-shirt (suitable to be painted on) by Friday 9th December, as our little elves need to get busy painting them (aka The Junior Infant teachers!). Please make sure your child's name is marked clearly on the label. Children may bring in something festive for their heads on the day e.g. a Santa hat, reindeer ears, seasonal hairpieces etc. We are having great fun practicing our Christmas poems and songs and the children can't wait for you to see them perform!
Welcome to Junior Infants!
