We held the Day of Action at the end of our BIG TRAVEL CHALLENGE which we ran for the past fortnight. Schools are asked to choose one method of travel to promote for the BIG TRAVEL CHALLENGE. However, after much discussion the committee decided that each family should choose its own way to try to travel over the two weeks. We would like to say thank you to everyone who worked so hard to travel sustainably. All of our students were given passports to collect stamps for travelling in a green way. We collected the passports on Friday so that we can use them as raffle tickets for Green School prizes.
We also gave out our travel pledges during our BIG TRAVEL CHALLENGE. We have asked all of the families to make a pledge to take one greener step in the way they travel. We will make a book from all of the pledges we receive so please return your pledge so it can be included in our newest pledge book. We have books of pledges on energy and water saving from previous flags.
Fit Foot is St. Mary's Green School's mascot for the Travel Flag which we are hoping to get this year! He likes to takes these "Six Saving Steps"!

Walk pool was an idea from our sixth class. They said it is good fun to meet up with your friends and walk to school with them. Lots of our sixth class do this everyday.
Fit foot was designed by Laura McInerney in 5th class.
