On Monday it was a very important day as we had our Student Council and Active Schools elections. The student council speeches were amazing. There was lots of good ideas and it was a very close vote. About half the class went for it and, in the end, the 6th class students elected to the Student Council were Daisy, Glen, Josh and Ethan. Our Active School committee vote was also extremely close, with Grace and Ali being elected. We wish everyone elected them the best of luck for the coming year.
On Wednesday the girls had their first Gaelic match in Herbert Park which they won on a score of 4-2:3-3. We also started P.E with Nikki.
On Thursday we started to learn how to type without looking at the keyboard on a website called typingclub.com.
We went outside on Friday for golden time to play Gaelic.
Last week was a very important week of the school year, it was our first week. We got to see our new school, which is bigger than our last school, and we got to see our new teacher Mr. Furlong. We also had to get used to school starting 10 minutes earlier.
On Monday we didn’t do much writing work but we sorted out our books and did school bag drawings about us.
We didn’t do much on Tuesday but on Wednesday we did our quotes. We all came up with our own inspirational quotes that we have up on our wall to help us through the year.
On Thursday we got to do P.E with Mr. Furlong. We did some basketball to test if the yard was a good place for a basketball court. We also started our student council speeches for the elections the following week. GAA also started that day for 5th and 6th class students.
On Friday we watched a video about kids with autism. It was probably one of the main highlights of the week. It was very interesting and helped us all to understand what kids with autism go through. It was a very interesting and fun week and was a great was to start of the school year.
