What a day we had yesterday! We had the privilege of being brought to Croke Park to cheer on St Mary's girls GAA team. The girls got all the way to the final! What an achievement! We made hats and posters and led by Ali had chants and songs to cheer the girls along. The girls were great and we are particularly proud of the girls from our class; Lauren, Caoimhe, Saorla, Sophie, Grace, Elaine, Daisy and Thea. The atmosphere was great and when Thea scored we were all delighted! Well done girls!
We designed Maths Trails for Ms Weston's 2nd Class. We researched what they are learning about this year in 2nd class and designed trails for them to use their Maths eyes around the school. They used skills they know in Maths and some skills they will be learning this year. We covered areas like measurement, counting/skip-counting, addition, 2D/3D shapes and lots more. We worked with the children to help them to complete their trails. We finished off by buddying up with some of the children to complete an acrostic Maths Week activity...
On Wednesday 10 October 5th class and Junior Infants went to Herbert park on a nature adventure. Each 5th class took care of one or two Junior Infants. They went to the duck pond and picked up some leaves, flowers and conkers. It was very fun day and all the 5th class were tired after taking care of the Junior Infants and I would say they were exhausted too!
