We talked about the recent flooding in the midlands of Ireland. Some of us have grandparents who live near the River Shannon. We decided to paint ducks in water.
Posters: "Never Stop Learning and Never Give Up" and
"Every day may not be good but there is something good in every day"
We performed "The Innkeeper's Breakfast", which tells the story of an innkeeper (Alexa) and her kind husband (Leo) in Bethlehem. After guests (Laura and Lucy C.) occupy the last available rooms, Mary and Joseph (Lorena and Cillian) take shelter in the stable behind the inn. Shepherds (Maeve, Aoife and Ramona) and kings (Rhys, Beth, Jack) heard the news of the new baby Jesus and found the stable.
We all took part in this performance; narrating and singing. All of our hard work and practice paid off as our parents were thrilled with the performance. Ms. Purcell even said Saoirse Ronan had better watch out!
For science week we planted bulbs & trees, discussed & explored different materials used in building. In small groups we constructed houses, experimented with their strength and we also watched how magnets work.
We are in First Class and Ms. Greene is our teacher!
