To use the World Cup as part of our learning, each student was given a country to support throughout the tournament this summer.
On top of that, they were given an research exercise to find as much information as possible on their country and to produce it on a poster display. The quality of the projects were exceptionally high and we learned a lot about how similar and different countries around the world are to Ireland! The class loved getting the chance to teach and learn during the presentations!
A big thank you to Mr Cody's 5th class who showed us lots of fun exercises and helped us improve on our technique in executing these movements. We used the school ipads to record us our us at each station so we could see how well we were doing!
As part of Active Schools Week, First Class took part in 10 at 10 every morning this week. We practiced a variety of different activities each morning such as cardio exercises, fundamental movements, dynamic and static stretches.
Our School Tour for 2018 led us to Dublin Zoo. We had a fantastic day walking around in the sun getting to see some animals from all over the world! The class were extremely behaved throughout the entire day and everyone at Saint Mary's are extremely proud of how they conducted themselves.
A MASSIVE thank you to the parents who joined us on the day. Without them, the day could not have been half as enjoyable.
